Is Your Training 3D?
“You can lead a man to water, but you can’t make him drink.”
You can’t force people to learn. However, you can encourage them with training that engages, motivates and supports retention and application.
Put yourself in the learners’ shoes and ask:
Is it Dynamic?
• Is it engaging, fun and appealing to different learning styles?
Is it Direct?
• Is it relevant and to the point? Or does it provide superfluous content and waste their time?
• Is it delivered in a way that makes sense? Or is it unrealistic, hard to find and difficult to grasp?
Is it Diverse?
• Does it incorporate many topics to develop a good balance of knowledge and skills?
Take the time to know your learners and give them what they want.
Adult learners want interaction, relevance, practicality and self-discovery.
Give it to them! They’ll learn better and faster, and be more apt to transfer that learning into on-the-job behaviors.
